Horse Nail Beach is known for its exceptionally clear water, which is one of its defining features along the Kyrenia coast. The pebble bottom contributes to excellent water clarity, allowing swimmers to see beneath the surface easily. Swimming conditions are generally safe, though the pebble beach means you'll want water shoes for comfortable entry. The water deepens relatively quickly in some areas, so less confident swimmers should stay close to shore. No lifeguards are present, so standard beach safety precautions apply.

Horse Nail Beach is best visited from May through October, with late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) offering ideal conditions with fewer crowds. These months provide warm, comfortable temperatures perfect for swimming while avoiding the peak summer heat and tourist influx. The crystal-clear water visibility is typically excellent during these periods. Summer months (July-August) see warmer water and longer days but more visitors. Winter visits are less ideal for swimming due to cooler temperatures, though the beach remains scenic.
