The Baltic here rolls in with the same gentle waves that define Lübeck Bay, breaking lazily on the shallow-sloped beach. Seashells—mostly mussels and periwinkles—scatter along the tide line, and beach grass holds the dunes in place, its roots visible where wind has sculpted small sand cliffs. You can still rent a strandkorb from the reduced number of vendors, but you'll have better odds of securing one with an unobstructed water view.
Behind the beach, the development thins to scattered vacation homes and small apartment blocks rather than the hotels dominating Sierksdorf's center. A bicycle path runs parallel to the shore, connecting this section to both the main resort and the quieter communities farther north. Late afternoon brings local families finishing their workday, spreading blankets for a quick swim before dinner. The sunsets face the wrong direction for dramatic color, but the evening light turns the water silver-gray and empties the beach until only dog walkers remain.
