Kanani Reef Beach is generally safe for snorkeling during calm conditions, particularly at high tide when water covers the reef adequately. The reef environment means swimmers should wear water shoes to protect feet from sharp coral and sea urchins. Snorkeling is best done carefully to avoid damaging fragile coral ecosystems.
